Conference Focus

The pace of change in carer support has been unprecedented in recent years. Disability and aged care sector reforms, and the introduction of the new Integrated Carer Support Service (ICSS), have impacted on the way carers access supports not just for the person they care for but also for themselves. Now more than ever carers need continued and targeted support that sustains them in their caring role, supports them to navigate service systems, and assists them to achieve their own goals.

How do we continue to support carers to have choice, remain engaged in the community, participate in education and the workforce and improve their wellbeing overall?

The Carers NSW Conference 2019 will showcase innovation and initiatives in policy, programs and practice in meeting the needs of carers in NSW.

The conference will focus on four core themes:

  • Support in the workplace
  • Support through research
  • Support in the community
  • Supporting the diversity of caring
