Adults caring for a sibling with disability

In 2017 Carers NSW conducted research with adults caring for a sibling with disability to raise awareness about their experiences.

Who are adult sibling carers?

Adult sibling carers are individuals over the age of 18 who provide care and support to their sibling who lives with disability. Many adult sibling carers have cared for their sibling since they were young, but may not have identified as a ‘young carer’ or accessed support.
