What the Dickens is a Carer?
What the Dickens is a Carer?, was a wonderful event held on 29 May 2012 at the QVB Tea Room, featuring two of our valued Friends of Carers NSW, the acclaimed UK actress Miriam Margolyes and popular media personality Julie McCrossin. The luncheon was a conversation on caring that involved a diverse range of carers and invitees raising awareness of carers across the community.

Our policy team works in a variety of ways to represent carers. We make written submissions and reports, attend meetings and forums, work in partnership with governments and other agencies, provide advice to a range of stakeholders, conduct research to raise the profile of carers within the sector and more broadly.
Our key publicly available written submissions from 2012 are available below.
The former President of Carers NSW, Laraine Toms, wrote in the Carers NSW newsletter, Carers News, about a range of carer related issues, including diverse themes such as the concept of resilience, the development of carer recognition policy, and many others.
