NSW Carers Strategy: Caring in NSW 2020-2030

The NSW Carers Strategy: Caring in NSW 2020-2030 outlines the NSW Government’s vision and commitment to improving the lives of carers over the ten-year period.

The NSW Carers Strategy: Caring in NSW 2020-2030 is a ten year plan to ensure the states 850,000 carers will receive better support and recognition to improve their financial and physical wellbeing.

The NSW Carers Strategy: Caring in NSW 2020-2030 is the NSW Government’s whole of government and whole of community commitment to better recognising and supporting people who have a caring role.

The vision for this Strategy is that we are an inclusive and supportive community that understands that caring for and supporting each other are fundamental parts of life.

Priorities of the strategy, as identified by carers include:

1.     Carers have better access to information, services and supports

2.     Carers will be recognised, respected and empowered

3.     Carers have improved financial wellbeing and economic opportunities

4.     Carers have better health and wellbeing

The new strategy was developed through a co-design process with carers to ensure their needs were understood and addressed in the new 10 year plan.

Carers NSW looks forward to working with the NSW Government and other stakeholders to implement the strategy and improve outcomes for carers right across NSW.
