Working with the hospital system

It can be very stressful when the person you care for is in hospital. Carers might be unsure about how things work in the ward, or who to talk to if they have concerns about the patient.

These fact sheets cover some of the basics about hospitals and what you can expect. They are especially useful for carers who may be unfamiliar with hospital processes and procedures.

More information on the hospital and health system is available on the NSW Ministry of Health website You can also call the Carer Line on 1800 242 636 for advice and information.

Translations of some factsheets into fifteen community languages are available here.
