Make a referral

Carers can arrange support for themselves or give consent for someone else to make a referral on their behalf.

Self-referrals

  1. Call Carers NSW on 02 9280 4744 to speak to us about your needs.
  2. Call Carer Gateway on 1800 422 737 for carer support planning and access to counselling, peer support, carer directed support packages and emergency respite care.

Making a referral on behalf of someone else

  1. Discuss the program with the carer and obtain their consent to make a referral
  2. Call Carers NSW on 02 9280 4744 
  3. Refer the carer to Carer Gateway on 1800 422 737 or www.carergateway.gov.au for carer support planning and access to counselling, peer support, carer directed support packages and emergency respite care.
